TRIGGER WARNING
Given Gabe's canon, even if we're talking about the revised version (see below), is both not the most well-known, and high on potential triggers, putting this here because a lot of it will come up throughout the information. Also, some spoilers for Next to Normal, I guess?
The short version: infant death, parental neglect and favoritism, attempted suicide, drugs, memory loss, a heavy focus on mental illness and its treatment, and possibly incest.
Some explanations: Gabe is the ghost of a boy who died as a newborn, and his parents never really got over it. His mother has bipolar, significantly neglects his younger sister because of her grief, and refuses to believe he's dead. She almost commits suicide at Gabe's urging, and ends up getting ECT and forgetting back to when she first met her husband. He also encourages his father to kill himself by the end of the show. Also, there's a weird meta suggestion that he might either somehow be or be connected to the guy that gets his sister into drugs and starts dating her.

ACTIVE TIMES/PACE: Central Time; irregular hours. I have several health issues, and some days I can't tag at all. If I haven't tagged back in a while and you want to make sure I got the tag or am still planning to return it, feel free to poke me.
STYLE: No preference between brackets or prose; prefer present tense, but will match past. I sometimes have trouble keeping up with text threads for long unless they switch to in-person.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: No gore in picture prompts, no graphic descriptions of gore in tags; no eye trauma; no insects.

CHARACTER BASICS
CANON: Feeling Electric
HUH?: 2005 pre-Broadway workshop version of the musical that became Next to Normal
SHORT FORM: Ghost of a kid who died as a newborn but sticks around thanks to his bipolar mother's attachment to him, haunting his family and trying desperately to be seen and acknowledged in increasingly questionable ways.
DEFAULT CANON POINT: Anytime
AGE DURING CANON: turning/just turned 16, but also, dead for 16 years, so....
CANON ERA: Modern but not specific; probably intended to be around when performed, so mid-2000s, but can be tweaked around.
VISUAL/AUDIO: PB reference; speaking (male voice); singing
OTHER NOTES: There's. a lot that's left vague about Gabe, like whether he's a real ghost or a manifestation of his parents' grief and the family's problems, whether he's maliciously trying to kill his mother or just doesn't want to be alone anymore, whether he's somehow connected to his sister's boyfriend in more than a meta way.... You get the picture. I play him as an actual person, not malicious but dangerously obsessive about his family's attention, and my default is that Tweak is an actual person that he's possessing, but I'm up to play with other theories if anyone has an idea.

OUT OF CHARACTER
BACKTAGS/SLOWTIME: Always, and happy to do it for ages. Please feel free to respond to things no matter how old they are, as well.
THREADHOPPING: Check, but generally fine.
FOURTHWALLING: Go for it.
NOT INTERESTED IN: Smut without build-up or previous CR.

IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Is it even possible? Who knows, the show's pretty vague. Let's say if it's possible, whether we handwave that ghosts can or he's possessing someone, he's probably here for it.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Fine but he'll probably just shake off any attempts because. Dead. Can't really hurt him.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: There's no physical indications of him being dead, but anyone who can tell something's off or not normal will probably recognize him for what he is. He is obsessively desperate to be noticed and not be alone anymore, and his morals are extremely skewed, as is his sense of. anything. Never really being alive will do that to you.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: See above. Some might be able to be avoided, but his death, his mother's illness, and his obsession with his family is likely to come up as background if nothing else.
RELATIONSHIPS
PLATONIC: Theoretically welcome. He's kind of fixated on his family, but could end up getting hooked on someone else paying attention to him given a chance. Ghost friends could be interesting, as well, and is probably the most likely to not turn out questionable.
FAMILY: Give them to me.
NEGATIVE: He's an obsessive ghost who pretty much has only interacted with his mother and maybe the rest of his family in 16 years. This is pretty doable, in one way or another.
SHIPPING: Yes-but. Gabe is, you know, a ghost, and how much or if he can touch the living is questionable. He's also unlikely to get in anything like a healthy relationship, considering his whole situation. As canon goes, the answer is yes, always, if anyone happens to be out there, though I won't assume anything without asking. There's so many overtones and undertones, so anything from weird-heaviness-but-nothing-else to outright extremely questionable romances with the rest of the Browns or with Madden is welcome. Special shoutout to the question of Tweak, I am definitely here for him romancing Natalie that way whether she has an inkling of what's going on or not.

- Please just give me any old-fashioned FE style Browns or Madden interaction I am weak.
- "Dan and/or Natalie have actually been able to see Gabe the entire time and are just really determinedly ignoring him" used to be one of my favorite fic things back in the day, so anything that deals with that pre-canon or during canon, especially weak moments where he can get them to acknowledge it.
- Possessing Tweak and encouraging Natalie's bad habits, and possibly her figuring it out, romance options but encouraged.
- Accidentally getting embodied and having to deal with life as a living person what the fuck is this???
- Making ghost friends that encourage him to not be quite so unbelievably unhealthy.
- FE!Gabe/N2N!Natalie -- instead of the sweet, genuine boyfriend, the perfectionist version of Natalie gets a Gabe-possessed Tweak, let's see how that goes.
